Certifications
Just a handful of certs I picked up out of pure curiosity —they're what I dove into when I got bored and wanted to keep the brain juices flowing.
Engineering and Product design processes
I genuinely had so much fun taking this course. While I had always known how to design intuitively, I never fully realized the distinct, structured steps involved in the design process. Back in my freshman year, I took an Engineering Design class where we got to model and prototype physical products, so this course complemented that experience perfectly. It clearly demonstrated how engineering and product design processes are carried out and helped me understand how to distinguish and navigate the individual phases within both workflows.
Initiating and Planning Projects
Around this time, I found myself wanting to explore the other side of the engineering equation—project management. I had always been focused on the technical and hands-on side of engineering, but I was curious about how everything gets organized, scoped, and delivered behind the scenes. So I took this course to get a better understanding of what project management actually looks like for engineers. It walked through how to manage timelines, coordinate teams, handle scope creep, and communicate with stakeholders—all the real-world stuff that turns models into finished products.
Engineering Project Management
I wanted to delve deeper into project management, especially after my manager at Apple recommended I look into it. The course went beyond just tools and timelines—it explored how to lead teams, balance competing priorities, and deliver results in real-world scenarios. It gave me a much deeper understanding of the strategic side of engineering work and opened my eyes to the bigger business decisions that drive technical projects. After taking this course, I realized how much I enjoy thinking at that intersection of engineering and leadership, and it’s what first sparked my interest in eventually pursuing an MBA.
